Dharma & Karma — Giving Back to the Himalayas
At Dharma Tool, every singing bowl, prayer wheel, and ritual tool we sell carries a deeper purpose — to serve not only the spirit of the buyer but also the community that makes our work possible. Our philosophy of Dharma (duty) and Karma (action) guides everything we do. For us, true spirituality does not stop at craftsmanship. It lives in compassion, in giving back, and in taking responsibility for the communities whose hands and knowledge create the instruments we bring to the world.
"We believe that every act of creation should also be an act of contribution."

Since Dharma Tool was founded in 2017, $5 from every sale made through our website has been donated to support the education of children in the Himalayan regions of Nepal. This is not a pledge or a future commitment. It has been happening with every order since the day we opened our doors.
The children we support come primarily from artisan families — the same communities whose skill, knowledge, and dedication produce the singing bowls, prayer wheels, and sacred instruments that our buyers receive. These families have given Dharma Tool everything. Helping their children access quality education is how we give something meaningful back.
Where the Contribution Goes
Our Dharma & Karma initiative is focused on Lekharka Village in Bhojpur District, Eastern Nepal — a remote Himalayan community where access to quality education and learning materials is limited. The children of this village face real obstacles in continuing their education — from the cost of school materials to the lack of resources at local schools.
Through our partnership with Sahayogi Sansar Nepal — a trusted local organisation working directly with communities in the region — every contribution from Dharma Tool is directed where it is needed most:
Education Support
Books, uniforms, stationery, and learning materials provided directly to children in Lekharka Village and the surrounding Bhojpur District communities.
School & Community Support
Supporting local schools and community learning centres in Eastern Nepal — helping maintain the infrastructure that allows children to continue their education.
Cultural Preservation
Encouraging the next generation to value both modern education and the cultural heritage of the Himalayas — so that the ancient traditions of Nepali craftsmanship are carried forward with pride.
Why This Matters to Us
Dharma Tool was co-founded by Deepak Sunar — who has worked directly with Nepali artisan families since 2008 — and Sunita Poudel, a certified sound healer whose healing practice is rooted in the same Himalayan traditions that inspire every piece we sell. Both understand from direct experience what these communities give to the world and how limited the resources available to them often are.
The artisan families who hand-hammer our singing bowls and hand-carve our prayer wheels have preserved a sacred craft tradition for generations. That tradition — and the people who carry it — deserves more than a transaction. The Dharma & Karma initiative is our commitment to making sure that every sale at Dharma Tool contributes to something that outlasts the purchase itself.
"Every sound of a singing bowl echoes with purpose — a reminder that peace grows stronger when it is shared."
Transparency — Our Commitment
We are committed to transparency in how every contribution is used. Dharma Tool works directly with Sahayogi Sansar Nepal to ensure that funds reach the children and schools in Lekharka Village and Bhojpur District. We share periodic updates on the impact of the initiative so that our buyers can see exactly how their purchase has contributed to something beyond the product they received.
If you would like to know more about the Dharma & Karma initiative, our partnership with Sahayogi Sansar Nepal, or how your specific purchase has contributed, contact us directly at [email protected] or through our contact form.
How You Can Help
Every Dharma Tool purchase is a contribution. You do not need to do anything extra — by choosing an authentic handmade singing bowl, prayer wheel, or ritual tool from our collection, you are already part of this cycle of giving. $5 from your order goes directly to a child in Lekharka Village, Eastern Nepal, who needs it.
If you would like to contribute further, share Dharma Tool with someone who would value an authentic Himalayan instrument. Every additional purchase extends the reach of this initiative — one child, one order at a time.
