A free course in Himalayan sound healing — 36 lessons, four certificates
This is a complete singing bowl healing course, taught in the Nepali tradition, and it is free. Four courses, thirty-six lessons, and a certificate at the end of each one. No account, no email, no payment.
It comes from the working notebook of a Nepali sound healer, and it teaches things that are difficult to find in English anywhere.

New to singing bowls? Course One assumes nothing. Two hours of reading, and it ends with you completing a full session on your own.
What are the four courses?
| Course | Lessons | You will learn |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Foundation | 8 | Holding, striking and rimming a bowl. The seven notes and their frequencies. Your first session. |
| 2. The Seven Chakras | 11 | One lesson per chakra — note, mantra, element, mudra, body parts. A full seven-bowl self-healing. |
| 3. Healing Methods | 9 | Working on others. Vedic and Tibetan systems, sound massage, warm water therapy, the 18-day programme. |
| 4. Twelve Chakras | 8 | The twelve-bowl layout, endocrine correspondences, brainwave entrainment, Reiki with bowls. |
Who teaches this course?
The material comes from Sunita Poudel, who trained in sound healing in Kathmandu and has practised since. She wrote the notebook during her own training and used it in her own sessions.
We have organised it into lessons and filled the gaps where it assumed knowledge — but the sequences, timings and bowl placements are hers, as she was taught them.
What makes it different from other singing bowl courses?
Most courses cover the seven chakras and their colours, then stop. This one starts there and keeps going.
- Two systems, not one. Vedic healing and Tibetan healing assign different notes to the same chakra and run in opposite directions. Almost no English course mentions the second exists.
- Direction changes everything. Root to crown is therapy. Crown to root is healing. One rule that shapes every session.
- Warm water therapy — a method for elderly clients who cannot manage a physical session.
- Panchatatva — cleansing the five elements, with a specific bowl layout.
- An 18-day programme — sound massage, warm water, rest, across three cycles. Treatment as a course, not a one-off.
- Twelve chakras and how they map to the endocrine glands.
Do I need to own singing bowls?
One bowl is enough to begin. Course One is built around owning exactly one, and Course Two can be worked through with one bowl and your attention.
If you have not bought one yet, wait until you have read Lesson 1.4 — it explains why an A or B bowl is the most forgiving first purchase. Our guide to choosing a singing bowl covers the practical side, and bowl types explains the shapes you will see named.
Already own one but don't know its note? The live frequency analyser identifies it in seconds. Do this before Lesson 1.5.
Courses Two and Three assume a seven-bowl chakra set. Course Four uses twelve. Neither is needed to read and understand the lessons.
How do the certificates work?
Each course ends with ten questions, four options each. Answer all ten correctly and the page reveals a completion code. Send it through our contact page with the name you want on the certificate, and we email it to you.
You cannot fail. A wrong answer points you back to the lesson and lets you try again, as many times as you need.
These are certificates of completion, not a licence to practise. Courses Three and Four teach you to work on other people, and no online course can establish that you are ready to do that safely. Supervised practice with a teacher is what makes a practitioner.
Who is this course for?
People who own a bowl and suspect they are not getting much from it. People who meditate and want a way in. Massage therapists, yoga teachers and bodyworkers adding sound to what they already do. And people with no interest in treating anyone, who just want twenty quiet minutes that work.
You do not need to be musical. You do not need to believe anything in particular.
Is sound healing a medical treatment?
No. Sound work is genuinely useful for relaxation, stress, sleep and settling a busy mind — and that is a great deal. It is not a treatment for disease and not a substitute for medical or psychological care.
We teach this tradition as we received it, planets and metals and mantras included, because that is what it is. We are careful not to claim more for it than it does.
Prefer to practise before you study?
Our 30-day routine calendar is a gentler way in — build the daily habit first, and the lessons will make far more sense afterwards. The chakra quiz will also suggest which note suits what you are working on.
Everything here is free, forever. Thirty-six lessons, four certificates, and no email needed to read a single page.
