Singing Bowl Set FAQ

It depends on how you practise. Three bowls, root, heart and crown, are enough to open, work and close a session. Five suit five-element work. Seven give the full chakra sequence, root to crown, which is what both the Vedic and Tibetan traditions assume. Twelve are for extended twelve-chakra work. If you are unsure, the set builder walks you through it.

Our chakra singing bowl sets are already matched and ship straight away. A custom set is matched to order through the set builder: you choose the tradition, the number of bowls and the notes, and we go through the workshop finding bowls that belong together.

Compact sets suit travel and home practice. Standard sets suit most personal and one-to-one work. Therapy weight sets are larger and heavier, for body work and group sound baths, where you want a deep voice and a long ring.

Yes. Tell us which bowls you already have in the notes on the last step of the set builder, and we will match the missing notes to them. If you do not know the notes of your bowls, our Live Singing Bowl Tuner will tell you in a few seconds.

Yes. Twelve-bowl sets are for extended twelve-chakra work and include the sharps. Tell us what you need in the set builder and we will say which notes we can match before you commit to anything.

Yes. On the first step of the set builder you can choose a gift, your own practice, client sessions, group sound baths, teaching, or a studio, clinic or retreat centre. Add a needed-by date on the last step if the set is for a particular day.

No. Sending a request is free and puts you under no obligation. We come back with the bowls we can match, the price and photographs, and you decide from there.

No. They are reference tones that let you hear the notes and the order they come in. Your actual bowls are chosen after you send the request, and you hear them in a video of your own set before it ships.

Phone speakers cannot reproduce low notes such as the 131 Hz C, so the root bowl can sound faint. Use headphones for the real sound. On an iPhone, the silent switch also mutes the tones, so switch it off first.

Yes. The last step of the set builder has budget ranges in US dollars, from under 300 to over 2,500, or you can choose Advise me and we will suggest what fits.

Yes. On the last step, open See exactly what you are sending and use Send on WhatsApp or Copy. Either sends us the same summary as the form.

Use the Copy or Send on WhatsApp buttons on the last step. Your full request is saved in the summary box, so nothing is lost.

Sunita reads every request herself. Within two to three days we go through the workshop, select the bowls that answer what you asked for, and come back with the set, the price and photographs.

Yes. Once you have paid, we record a video of your actual set being played, the bowls in the box with your name on it. If something is not right, we change it before the set leaves Kathmandu. Our page on why we do not publish sound clips explains why this matters more than a stock recording.

Tingsha, a padded carry case, a stand for the root bowl, and a measured frequency certificate. You can also choose mallets, one per bowl or two shared, and ring or square cushions in one colour or in the chakra colours.

We measure every bowl in your set and send the readings with it, so you have the numbers rather than only our word. Tick it on step four of the set builder.
